/ 23.1.2011 / The mare Serena (Rainbows for Life) has departed today to be covered for the first time. Her temporary home will be at MVDr. Eduard Kubíček’s Breeding Stud in Střelice. After a careful selection it was decided that the most suitable match for Serena, who finished her career with the handicap of 86.5 kg, will be the sire Suteki Shinsukekun (JPN), who is starting his stallion duties in the Czech Republic this year.
Suteki Shinsukekun is a product of the exceptionally successful Danzig x Mr Prospector line breeding, which has produced many exceptional horses, such as: Dayjur, the Group1 Winner and the Horse of Year in England; Brahms, the winner in the Hollywood Derby (Gr.1); Monashee Mountain, an Irish Group winner and a sire; Pas de Reponse, the 2-y-o’s European Filly Champion and the Gr.1 winner; Survivalist, the winner of the Gotham Stakes (Gr.3) as well as the 2nd in the Wood Memorial Stakes (Gr.1); Haatef, an English Gr.2 winner; War Zone, a French Gr.3 winner, etc. The horses mentioned above are only those Danzig’s descendants who came from the mares by Mr Prospector. The Danzig x Mr Prospector combination, not only in the F1 generation but globally, produced more than 100 Stakes winners.
All around, the Danzig x Mr Prospector combination produced 62 blood-horses. 53 of them raced: 47 horses (76%) won and 16 horses (26%) were the Stakes winners. Those are extraordinary results - even within the framework of Danzig’s population: 1099 descendants, 846 of them started, 674 (62%) won and 198 (18%) were the Stakes winners. The female population of Mr Prospector recorded 8% of the Stakes winners.
Suteki Shinsukekun raced from the age of 2 to 6 and in the four years he started in 31 races and he made JPY 165,313.00 (approximately US$1,500,000). He won 4 races, including the Arlington Cup (Gr.3, 1600 m), the Keisei Hai Autumn Handicap (Gr.3, 1600 m) and the Kochi Stakes (L, 1600 m). He finished the 2nd twice. He finished the 3rd three times, including the Silk Road Stakes (Gr.3, 1200 m) and the Keisei Hai Autumn Handicap (Gr.3, 1600 m). He also finished the 4th in the Mainichi Broadcast. Swan Stakes (Gr.2, 1400 m).
